ÕTEKSE

Three sisters, one voice
Our music
We are Õtekse — a folk-music-inspired ensemble of three sisters from Estonia. We bring together youthful energy, strong musicianship, and a deep connection to traditional culture. Our music is characterised by fresh arrangements of folk songs, where traditional sounds blend with a contemporary approach — which is how we reach audiences of every age.
Our story
Our journey has been marked by several notable achievements. In 2021 we won the Grand Prize at the Mooste Elohelü competition, and in the years that followed we picked up special awards at the same competition. Our arrangement of “Puraviku polka” was performed at the 13th Youth Dance Festival. We have appeared at festivals such as Hiiu Folk, the Viljandi Folk Music Festival, and the international Zemlika Festival. In spring 2026 we had the honour of performing at the Estonian Literary Museum during the Presidential Folk Poetry Awards ceremony. That same year we also took part in the TV show “Laul vs Tants” and were invited onto the “Õhtu” talk show.
Our sound
With our distinctive sound and sincere stage presence, we carry Estonian folk music traditions forward while giving them a fresh, contemporary voice.

Mirtel Katrina
“My first performance with my sisters took place at the Mooste Folk Music Arrangement Festival. I was only 11 at the time, and I got to perform with Õtekse on a bigger stage for the very first time. I still remember the overwhelming happiness and excitement of performing together with my sisters.”
